The main competition is for teams of 5 pairs of golfers playing scratch foursomes. The draw for the main competition is held following the Public Schools Golfing Society’s AGM held in January every year.
Player Eligibility
Please note the following non-retrospective guidelines for eligibility in the competition:
- Anyone under 18 on the first day of the competition will be ineligible.
- Contestants must have spent a minimum of 3 full terms or the equivalent of one full curriculum year as a pupil at a Hewitt participating school between the ages of 13 and 18.
- Entry can only be made from one school ad infinitum and it is considered against the spirit of the competition for a contestant to represent two separate schools in different competitions.
- Contestants must be a Member of their Old School Society or its equivalent.
Additional Competitions
In addition to the main foursomes knockout, there are two other competitions
The Peter Kenyon Bowl: a handicap foursomes stableford competition open all members of an appropriate Old Boys Golf Society and played at Princes Golf Club .
The Plate: this is a scratch foursomes knockout for first round losers in the main competition. This is held at Princes Golf Club.
Finally, Rye Golf Club offers concessionary green fees during the week
